Employment Law

Law Offices of Hall and Lim handles employment matters primarily for our entertainment clients. When a model or an actor is not paid their wages on time, we bring suit for waiting-time penalties against the employer that was late in making payments.

If you worked as a print model, you are entitled to be paid your wages on your final day of work. If you are not paid on time, you may be entitled to penalties of up to thirty times your daily wage. For example, if you worked on January 1st for one day for $1,000 and you did not receive your money until February 5th, you would be entitled to keep the $1,000 in wages and still be able to recover an additional $30,000 in waiting-time penalties.

If you worked as an actor in a film or commercial, you are entitled to be paid your wages on the following schedule. If your job was between the 1st and the 15th of the month, the company has until the 25th of the month to pay you. If the job was between the 16th and the last day of the month, the company has until the 10th day of the following month to pay you. If you are not paid on time, you may be entitled to penalties of up to thirty times your daily wage.

Our firm handles these cases on a contingency fee basis. We do not charge you any money up front, and we will front the costs of your lawsuit for you. We are only paid a percentage if we recover money for you. If there is no recovery, then you owe us nothing. Our attorneys will provide you with a free consultation to determine whether you have a case and the value of your case. Call us at 310-203-8411 and ask to speak with one of our attorneys.
